Broken: Not Sad and Empty

A beautiful reflection by Fallyn Cavalieri in response to last week’s e-news article, shared here with her permission:

“A thought—I was just looking at your deflated balloon picture and it occurred to me that the balloon is not sad and empty. That balloon has carried out God’s message. We filled that balloon with love and sent it out into the world as a messenger. By the glory of God, that balloon did not keep our love bundled up inside, but instead it spread our love into the world and onto our neighbors. The balloon lived a noble life. It went out into the world, gave everything it had, and then returned to us, reminding us all that God has filled us up and sent us out into the world with a purpose…. How much love is still bottled up inside you waiting to escape???”
